HERC Has Seen ANGEL 3.6!!

Angel 3.6 FAQ

What’s it called?

”Billy.”

Who’s responsible?

Teleplay credited to Tim Minear (“Through the Looking Glass,” “That Old Gang of Mine”) and Jeffrey Bell (“That Vision-Thing”).

What does TV Guide say?

Angel's loyalty to his friends comes back to haunt them in this chilling episode, an unsettling blend of the series' usual horrors with the more realistic issue of violence against women. Angel and Cordelia both knew there would be consequences when he freed the partially demonic (but totally evil) Billy from a fiery prison in hell in order to save her. Those fears are realized when a wave of violence against women is traced back to Billy, whose mere touch has the power to bring out the worst in otherwise good men. The crew rushes to prevent another brutal attack, unaware that Wesley has already been infected - and he's alone in the hotel with Fred. Billy: Justin Shilton.

Any disclaimers?

Yeah. Due to technical difficulties, this will be a very short review. Also, thar be spoilers for episodes beyond tonight’s.

What is TV Guide not telling us?

This is one of the best non-comedic installments of “Angel” ever.

The big news?

Looks like Wesley like-likes Fred.

The other big news?

We can put one rumor to rest: Fire-cage Billy appears not to be Angel’s son from the future. He is the nephew of a U.S. congressman, and part-demon besides.

Anyone from Wolfram & Hart pay a visit this week?

Lilah and Gavin (both great this week).

Any sign of Darla?

Nope. But she’s back from Central America next week.

Any sign of Holtz?

Nope. But he’s also back next week.

Krevlornswath (of the Deathwok Clan)?

No Krev.

What’s good?

We get to see a whole new side of Cordelia tonight; looks like she’s able to do a lot more than get headaches and break vases over demon heads! The guy who plays Billy does a spectacular job with a fairly low-key role. The final scene between Fred and Wes. Lilah!!

What’s not so good?

Wes’ final defeat is a tad cheesy. But I quibble.
