LEOFF Reviews ANGEL 3.7!!

I am – Hercules!!

"Leoff," who does the wildfeed reviews for the Cross & Stake, has kindly agreed to take over the "Angel" reviews for the exhausted Hercules. Behold:

Angel 3.7 FAQ

What’s it called?

”Offspring.”

Who’s responsible?

Teleplay credited to David Greenwalt (The show’s co-head honcho with Joss W.).

What does TV Guide say?

As the crew researches a prophecy predicting the imminent arrival of a being who may have a profound impact on the world, Darla arrives at the hotel - pregnant and angry, looking for the daddy. Cordelia, hurt by Angel's dishonesty, takes Darla's side in the matter. Baffled by how the pregnancy is even possible, Angel and company turn to the Host for some insight.

What is TV Guide not telling us?

We get some past and present glimpses of the up-till-now MIA Holtz.

Any disclaimers?

If you’re expecting any HINT a crossover with Tuesday’s Buffy Musical, forget it.

The big news?

Two prophecies for the price of one! A brand spanking new one, and… Remember the Shanshu prophecy from season one? The one about Angel being a big player in the grand scheme? Might not be what we all thought…

So is Darla acting all mommy-to-be?

Yes and no. She’s definitely preggers, but she not exactly thrilled about having a baby for a very specific reason. Not to mention I doubt any pregnant woman living today could be so dangerous.

So who we get to see this week?

We get visits from Krevlornswath (of the Dethwok Clan) and the three Furies (from "That Old Gang of Mine")

No Wolfram & Hart this week?

Darla with Child isin’t enough? No, no W&H.

Krevlornswath (of the Deathwok Clan) still pissed at Gunn?

If he is, it doesn’t show. Krevlornswrath is rebuilding his joint and has a new outlook.

Anything new with Cordy, Gunn, Wes, or Fred?

Cordy continues her combat training, Gunn reveals a hidden talent, Fred gives us a Pylean language lesson, and Wesley still isn’t QUITE right after last week’s doings.

What’s good?

Hints of feelings for Angel towards… naw, ain’t gonna say.

What’s not so good?

The addition of Holtz in this episode. Oh, he’s cool, he’s cruel, and probably really, really a downright bad guy for Angel, but so far the build up is too slow and distracting. Already enough going on with Darla and child.

Leoff’s rating for “Angel” 3.7 on Herc’s scale?

***1/2

The Hercules T. Strong Rating System:

  • ***** better than we deserve
  • **** better than most motion pictures
  • *** actually worth your valuable time
  • ** as horrible as most stuff on TV
  • * makes you quietly pray for bulletins

He is -Hercules!!

But, seeing as how Herc ain’t here…

Leoff is the guy to harass.
