Seattle STAR WARS line has begun!!! 4 Months To Go!

Hey folks, Harry here... well it's January 4th, you know what that means... Time to get in line for your STAR WARS tickets! Will theaters be selling their tickets online way in advance this time out to avoid the hysteria of the 'Star Wars' line? Will the manic and insane lines form this time out? Did George kill that spirit with PHANTOM MENACE? Well, every line has a beginning and on January 1st, 2002 Jeff Tweiten and John Guth decided to be FIRST. No doubt there will be lampooning and some mean spirited tripe hurled at them from the Talk Backs below, but ya know... For me, I love the line concepts. Some say it is just a movie, but ya know... That may be true for them, but for others... They make it something else. Star Wars has been such a strong part of so many peoples' lives that no amount of angry backlash and petty nitpicking could begin to assail the personal love for that galaxy far far away... I camped in line for over 10 days on PHANTOM MENACE and loved every minute of it. However, this year... due to my Book tour stuff, I might not be able to... which would blow, cause I've camped for every Star Wars film except the first one (and I did for the SPECIAL EDITION version of that one!). Well best of luck guys!!!

FROM SEATTLE WASHINGTON

It's official, Jeff Tweiten and John Guth of Seattle, WA are the first two guys to be waiting for "Star Wars: EPISODE II Attack of the Clones."

Waiting, outside of the Cinerama movie theatre in Seattle, WA are two dedicated Star Wars fans who will spend over four months on the streets of Seattle, dedicating their lives to a cultural phenomenon that has inspired their hearts and instructed their values throughout their lives. Jeff Tweiten was first to arrive on January 1st, 2002 and was soon accompanied by his friend John Guth.

This four and a half month period will be the longest wait in known record books, for two folks to wait together for a movie. When asked why, "we love Star Wars and I want to create sort of a life art project out of this that can be displayed once this is over with, " says Jeff Tweiten. Jeff continues, "Over the course of the next four months we plan on capturing our adventures and experiences on the streets of Seattle with our cameras and journals. What we do with it after it's all done with...ask us then."

The entire concept was masterminded by Jeff over a year ago, "I wanted to wait in line for two years, but just couldn't do it, so I figured what a great way to start off a new year." John concluded, "when Jeff mentioned the idea to me a year ago, I have to admit, I too thought if was off the wall, but after convincing me and seeing the fun in store I just had to join him."

There will be much more to follow so to keep updated for know, information will be posted on the SSWS website SeattleStarWars.Com and a special web site WaitingForStarWars.Com will be running soon.

More to come...

John Guth
