James Gunn Talks About SCOOBY TOO and DAWN OF THE DEAD!! Diane Lane Fighting Zombies'!

Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

I’m not familiar with WebWombat.Com, but they got an interview with James Gunn about his upcoming work on both SCOOBY TOO (as they’re calling it now) and DAWN OF THE DEAD. I was joking a few weeks back that some dunce would come up with the title SCOOBY DEUX and think it was a great idea, and you’ll see in the article below... some dunce did:

Gunning for numero Deux

Scribe James Gunn has decided on the title for the next "Scooby Doo" movie, Scooby Too.

Originally favouring Scooby Deux, Gunn said: "That (Deux) is actually the title Lorenzo DiBonaventura likes too, but I prefer Too.

"I knew I'd probably take on the sequel but I didn't know I'd have as much enthusiasm for it as what I have," says Gunn.

"I'm extremely excited about it. We get a chance to correct all my mistakes we made on the first one. And I can put my sea monsters back in - they got cut from the first one due to the budget."

Scooby Too, re-uniting the original cast (and possibly "Dynomutt" as a new addition) - starts shooting in QLD in due course.

Web Wombat can exclusively reveal that Diane Lane is being considered for the new big-budget horror remake of Dawn of the Dead. Seems you're no one in Hollywood at the moment if you've not been offered to head up a horror blockbuster - recent pluckings being Jessica Beil for The Texas Chainsaw Masscare and Naomi Watts, who nabbed the lead in Ring – and hence, Lane's career has come full circle.

Scribe James Gunn says if Lane - currently appearing in Unfaithful - doesn't mind getting her hands dirty or dress soaked in blood for that matter, he'd love to enlist her for his re-working of the horror classic. "After seeing her performance in Unfaithful, I'd like to put Diane Lane in DOTD," said Gunn. "Diane Lane is amazing in that movie and I'd love the chance to work with her."

Oh, Diane. You’ve got some heat going. Don’t burn it off on this unnecessary remake. Please. It’s taken so long for you to be given the respect you deserve. Think twice. There’s got to be something better in your reading stack these days...

"Moriarty" out.
