Harry here... BULLSHIT or NOT??? We will see. I'm gonna jump on this rumor like a willing magical swirling... whip cone from Dairy Queen!!! Ok, now Olivia Newton-John is the most fabulous woman ever in the course of recorded human history... that goes nearly without saying. But what would this film be about? Would it be about those characters growing old and losing touch with their inner-T-Birds and Pink-Ladies? Would it be about wallowing in the Nostalgia of the olden times, or embracing the age of today? Would they be bitter relics of yesteryear, or hopeful that cars would one day be cool again? Would it be a 30 year High School reunion story set in the early Eighties on ROLLER SKATES??? OHMYGOD, I think I just came!!! This could be a marriage of the glory of GREASE and the magnificence of XANADU!!! Dear Lord... Make this true! Fuck LOTR and KILL BILL and STAR WARS 3.... GIVE ME THE DREAM OF GREASE AGAIN!!!!
An insider at Paramount Pictures confirms that John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John are indeed in talks to reprise their roles of Danny and Sandy for a "Grease 3" (Although I'm strongly doubting they'll whack a '3' on the end of it). We're told that it would be one 'for the fans' featuring the original stars, who we'd be catching up with all these years later and finding out what's going on in their lives post-T Birds and post-Pink ladies. Stockard Channing is also being eyed to reprise her role as Rizzo. Apparently the idea for a third "Grease" has been hot but the studio backed down when the idea for a Britney Spears /NSync headlined sequel met with much backlash from fans of the original film. Randal Kleiser, the director of the first film, will direct this new film - and he's doing the courting of the leads too.
