The Best Shots Yet For GOLLUM and TREEBEARD from THE TWO TOWERS! Massive Spoilers! Don't go, if ya don't want to see!

Hey folks... Harry here - With the publication of all the new LORD OF THE RINGS: TWO TOWERS making of books, story of books and what not, there will be a flood of images for the upcoming film. You have to ask yourself if you want to remain 100% pure or if you want to know, and want to see. What's my perspective on this?

You know... I've been very nervous about Gollum. In fact, when I walked out of FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING, I had this sinking feeling that while that was only the beginning, and that the story certainly gets bigger from there, that size and the ambitious challenge of creating a CG character that by it's very nature if done correctly should force the Academy to create a special award for Animation and Acting. Nothing like Gollum has ever been done on film. Nothing close. I knew that Peter Jackson and WETA knew that. I know that Randy Cook at Weta was taking the challenge EXTREMELY serious. We had hours of conversations about this being the most difficult creation any animator working in a live action medium has ever done.

Hearing how ambitious their plans were for Gollum, I have been anxious and nervous for them to get it right. So far, every shot of Gollum we've seen has been hidden in shadows and night lighting. We've yet to get CLOSE to Gollum. How hard would he be? How real would he look? Well, we still don't have a FACE shot of Gollum, but below there is a shot of Frodo threatening Gollum with Sting that is simply... well, it is breathtaking. It gives hope. The other day I was talking to a source on board the film, and I asked... How'd Gollum work out? "He's always at the very least very good, often he's amazing." The person that told me this is someone that frankly doesn't bullshit. They've always shot straight in the past, so in combination, this picture and that has my anticipation killing me.

This look at Gollum... the skin cracks, inflamations, flaws... The way light carries not only on him, but through him... I've never seen anything CG that looked this good. Now, if only it moves right... right? hehehe

Then there's the shot of TREEBEARD below, just a portrait and wow does it get me anxious to seeing Treebeard talking with John Rhys Davies' voice. Folks... these two pictures below, for me, they just get me more excited, more anxious, more drooling.

However, they are MAJOR SPOILERS! For me, nothing can spoil the experience of seeing TWO TOWERS for the first time. I'm dying to see it not once, but like 20 times. But choose for yourself right now. CLICK HERE TO GO BACK TO THE MAIN PAGE AND REMAIN PURE!!!
