TidBits on VAN HELSING!
Hey folks, Harry here... Boy I'd love to have a look see at this tape. I'm excruciatingly curious about what type of film VAN HELSING is going to be. Is it a tongue and cheek film or a scary as hell type of film? This is the part of the film that I haven't heard about yet, will Hugh Jackman be serious and mysterious... or will he be bulging eyed Don Knotts style like the characters in THE MUMMY films. Otherwise it sounds very intriguing thus far...
Hi Harry,
I don't know if everyone has seen this, but there is a promotional tape of Sommers' VAN HELSING. It shows quite a bit of the artwork and what kind of atmosphere we have to expect. The sets seem huge, even compared to THE MUMMY and very dark, especially the castle (Dracula's I guess). It doesn't look much as a teenie movie. Van Helsing will have a cool weapon, a boomerang-like disk, that can be adjusted to finish off various monsters, it has silver blades, holy water, etc.
The monsters look all in all pretty big and not very old-fashioned at all, they actually are bigger than life versions of the monsters we used to see in the old films. Now I guess it all depends on how they will put that on film, becuase they just showed the storyboards and some miniature figures. Sommers said that this definitely is his biggest project yet and that he won't dissapoint the audience.
Greetings,
call me 'SNAKE'
