The Stop Motion Animated Feature film of CORPSE BRIDE is... Underway!

Hey folks, Harry here... last time we had news on CORPSE BRIDE it was February, 1998... Around that time, Warner Brothers was pulling Tim Burton off of it, so he could focus all his energies on SUPERMAN, because that was on the fast track... ... ... ... As for Caroline Thompson, she's the genius behind the screenplays for EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, THE SECRET GARDEN and BLACK BEAUTY. Caroline... well, she's just written a script called THE GREAT JOHNNY ECK, which I've only just finished reading, and I'll be writing about it later this week (IT IS SUPER GREAT) and I'd kill (ok, I wouldn't, but I'd maim) to get a looksee at her script for THE CORPSE BRIDE. Any script for Stop Motion feature films... well... it just delights me to read. Like that Ed Solomon script for AUTOMATONS I read... wow, that's a hoot... And I'd LOOOOOOVE to get a peak at that Wallace and Gromit feature that the wizards at Aardman are producing... and when the hell is Vinton gonna throw his hat into the feature Stop Motion ring dagnabbit!?!?!?!? I'd love more info on this project... I really would!

They're starting work on THE CORPSE BRIDE over in England!!! Mike Johnson is directing it. He was an assistant animator on Nightmare, an animator on James (not sure about Monkeybone), and he directed the stop-mo music video for "Devil Went Down to Georgia" and a few commercials. Very spiffy guy. Caroline Thompson is writing, just like she worked on Nightmare. A friend of mine from middle school introduced me to her uncle Richard, who was high school buddies with Mike (how's that for a connection!).

I guess we'll see how it turns out in 2 years! I haven't heard a word about it, but I'm just going to automatically assume Danny Elfman's doing the music. Ok, lemme re-phrase, I'm going to assume hell will freeze over if Danny *doesn't* do the music to this one.

The Scooter Witch!
