Sweeps Day 12!! Hercules Has Seen Antepenultimate BUFFY!!

Buffy 7.20 FAQ

What’s it called?

“Touched.”

Who’s responsible?

Teleplay is credited to Rebecca Rand Kirshner (“Help,” “Potential”).

What does TV Guide say?

“Faith restores calm to the rattled Potentials after the power goes out in Sunnydale; Buffy confides her insecurities to Spike; the Scoobies interrogate a captured Bringer.”

The big news?

An implement first glimpsed in the pages of “Fray” is at last beheld on the mothershow! Plus? It’s strongly suggested that a certain pair of fabulous lesbians have not yet boned!

Faith restores calm?? Faith the Vampire Slayer?

Do not believe the TV Guide; It means well but is confused. Faith restores mostly chaos and Angst.

Does Faith restore calm to new friend Robin Wood?

She restores Robin wood.

A vulnerable Buffy confides to Spike? Is there boneage here?

No true boneage, but Spike continues to earn Buffy’s love in ways Angel cannot begin to contemplate.

What’s up with Spike’s road buddy, Andrew? Is there a bone for Andrew?

Dude! Andrew gets invaded!

The Scoobs bring a bringer? Is he very yappy?

Not so much at first. Then Dawn has an idea!

Does Anya nurse poor Xander’s socket?

Following the title credits, Nick Brendon adopts a Nick Fury look that Anya finds difficult to resist.

Does Willow eye the dark magicks? Does she eye Kennedy?

Kites are spoken of. And string.

Does Dawn require rescuing?

At no time. Also? She has that idea!

Is Giles back to the foreground?

He utters the episode’s first line, but his remains but a voice among many. He even lacks the characteristic snappy comeback when Spike says something mean!

Any sign of Fantastico?

Nary a whisker.

Any news on Caleb?

Not a big fan of the sex, that Caleb.

What’s good?

Willow and Kennedy. Faith and Wood. The return of a beloved Sunnydale official. The harbinger capture. Xander and Anya, whom Herc thinks remains the real thing. Spike and Buffy, feeling the love.

What’s not so good?

After this week, only two to go!

How does it end, spoiler-boy?

“Everybody get down!!”

Herc’s rating for “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” 7.20?

8 p.m. Tuesday. UPN.

Hercules, you think you’re so big! Are you aware there are also non-AICN Buffy fan events in our futures?

We are so aware! In fact, the next out of the gate is this coming weekend’s Flashback Weekend Buffy Fan Event in Chicago, with James Marsters, Danny Strong, Tom Lenk, Iyari Limon, Mark Metcalf and George Hertzberg. Tickets? A few are still available, but you’ll want to hurry!

Oh, and if anyone knows who makes those Buffy pop-up videos (like the one recently glimped at Grand Slam), write Herc pronto:

I am – Hercules!!
