Quint kicks Bruce Campbell's ash and makes him spill on Lucky McKee's THE WOODS! Plus ASH VS JASON & FREDDY...

Hey folks, Harry here... I've got the script to this film Bruce is in... I'll give it a look see, along with M. Night's and give you guys the low-down on which kicks more ass. Here's Quint...

Ahoy, squirts. You might remember a week or two ago when I got the tipoff that Bruce "The Man" Campbell was cast in Lucky McKee's THE WOODS.Click here to see that report!

Knowing my source (Pack-ew) the way I did, I knew he/she was telling me the absolute truth. I knew that wasn't enough for the rest of you out there, though, so I sent off an email to the man himself and he confirmed it all the way. Here's what he said:

Howdy:

Think the original "The Haunting." The Woods takes place in 1965, and now that I'm old enough to play fathers, that's what I play - Joe, the semi-nerdy father of the lead actress. Lucky McKee, who did the film "May" recently will helm - he's a newcomer who's making some noise. It might be okay, because it's not some BS horror film with jokes every 5 minutes - it's for real...

Nice, nice. So... Bruce playing the father of the lead actress. I know Angela Bettis was wanting a role in the film... could he be May's father? Hmmmmmmm... guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'll be back shortly with my take on Woody Allen's latest and a few other little bits. 'Til that day, this is Quint bidding you all a fond farewell and adieu.

Alright all you primitive chodder heads, Harry here again... This time, we got a scoop on what Mr Boom Stick has to say about that whole ASH VS FREDDY & JASON thing. Here ya go...

Hey Harry,

This morning Gustav and Daria, two local Portland radio mini-celebs, interviewed the King- Bruce-I'm cooler-than-Colin-Farrell Campbell- on the opening/ short run of Bubba-Ho-Tep at Cinema 21.

Daria began her last question with the warning to Bruce that he wouldn't like what she was about to ask, then preceded to tell him she'd interviewed Robert Englund a couple of weeks ago and he said a Freddy/ Jason/ Ash crossover was in negotiations and if Bruce could confirm that rumour.

Bruce answered that "Robert was a pretty smart and perceptive guy" and that negotiations were underway by guys in suits at the studios.  Basically the fight is over whose franchise would come out on top in the potential crossover.  Daria quipped that "we should just let the geeks fight it out" to which Bruce answered "yeah, let Harry Knowles decide who wins."

Personally I'm not keen on the crossover idea of a crossover with Ash and Freddy.  The "Evil Dead" films are light years cooler than the "Nightmare" series and Ash wouldn't be caught dead slumming on Elm street.  On the other hand: I'll take what "Evil Dead" their willing to dish out, even if he has to share time with Freddy, 'cause the franchise looks all but dead.  And I'm always happy to see Bruce working.

Stay out of Double-Secret-Probation.

Ok, so "da BRUCE" wants me to decide who wins... They put me in charge, this is how I see it. A $90 Million film -- The movie begins with Bruce tearing the hell out of Freddy and Jason... limbs flying everywhere, him bathed in blood, when suddenly he wakes up at the firearm section of S-MART... and then you have the best fucking EVIL DEAD movie ever, without another shot of Freddy or Jason. I HAVE SPOKEN!
