Believe it or Not - Orson Welles' BATMAN... the mind boggles...

Hey folks, Harry here... Ok... Officially I have a new all-time dream project. You know... as film geeks, comic geeks... dreamers and lovers of mediums generally ridiculed in High Schools everywhere... We often times play the "What if.." game. Having sat around a living room or two with friends playing this game... The concept of "What if ORSON WELLES had directed a BATMAN movie in the mid-late 40's?" had never come up.

Nope, not once. That is, until today. And today I got a link to Mark Millar's column over at ComicBookResources.Com today, and what I read... well... What I read sent my imagination soaring. To think of it. HOW... on any plane of existence a project like this could go unheard of through the years... That it was never mentioned in any tome on Welles before... That in all the history books on BATMAN, that it was never mentioned, whispered or screamed at the top of their lungs... I'm stunned. Stunned.

I can say, with zero doubt, that the book due out next Easter about this project... filled with pictures and evidence of everything that Mark Millar's column is discussing... that book is my number one dream to read.

That this would have been the project to go before LADY FROM SHANGHAI... it staggers the brain! Can you imagine the Herrmann score? Dear god. The casting is beyond perfect. Sigh... The greatest geek project never realized... Maybe, Paul Dini and Alex Ross can adapt the treatment into a gigantic series of photo realistic comics with all the actors being realized in their roles and make-up, in the story. Sweet jesus this is a lightning rod of fevered cranial activity! WOW...
