A SIMPSONS DVD Tidbit

I am – Hercules!!

Ah, season four. When “The Simpsons” was the best comedy on television not titled “The Larry Sanders Show” …

Hey Herc and Mori;

I sent this to both you guys cuz Herc does TV and Moriarty does DVDs so I guess this falls under both. re: simpsons s.4 DVDs

anyway, I'll try to keep it short and sweet so we can get on with our lives:

Conan O'Brien did 4 shows in TO .. .

blah blah blah....

Friday show he's signing autographs after the show...

blah blah blah ....

Since I'm a good and loyal AICN Talkbacker geek I manage to yell from the floor while he's signing my ticket: "Hey are you doing the Simpsons Season 4 commentaries?"

Conan goes "Yeah, we recorded it last week."

"Monorail?"

"Yeah, Monorail!"

"Nice!"

So yeah, that's it. I've been hoping he does it cuz I'm so stoked to hear him on the ever-more-increasingly-funny commentary tracks on the Simpsons DVDs.

From looking at Snpp guide (awesome site) it says O'Brien has sole writing credits on two episodes in season 4: The New Kid on the Block (Bart falls in love with neighbour. Moe tries to kill Jimbo.) & Marge vs. the Monorail ("I call the big one Bitey"). However he was a producer that year so he might be on more tracks then that. I dunno, though, that's just a guess. On season 5 he has a few more writing credits such as Homer Goes to College ("Hello Dean? You're a stupid head!"), Treehouse of Horror IV ("Devil and Homer Simpson"). Since the broadcast seasons are different from the actual episode numbering his work on Season 5 was really done in Season 4.

Anyway, I've rambled on much longer then I should have. Main point is - Conan on Simpsons commentary tracks. Now if they could just get John Swartzwelder to actually say something we'd be set.
