Ken Watanabe to play Ra's Al Ghul in BATMAN: INTIMIDATION

Hey folks, Harry here... I'm scared, excited, thrilled and can barely believe how great things are going with BATMAN: INTIMIDATION (GAME?) -- For the duration of this site's existence... 8 years now, we've been fighting with Warner Brothers about their Superhero & D.C. Properties. Even now - the continual biological irradiated disasters that seem to continually announce terrible new tidbits (CATWOMAN & SUPERMAN) - well, they leave me wanting to write daily rants about what complete loads of shit they seem to be.

But then... there is BATMAN: INTIMIDATION... first they brought on David Goyer to write it. Then they hired Christopher Nolan, who then hosted a screening of the original BLADE RUNNER with narration and preached about the purity of models and real optics and the use of shadow and light in that Ridley Scott masterpiece... which then made me giddy in terms of hoping to believe in his note-perfect casting as Director of the relaunch of BATMAN. Then they cast Christian Bale - and the second I heard that - the second I put that on the site - I knew... Nick Nunziata would be pulling a Donald O'Connor and dance through walls. He was perfect. Then there's been Liam Neeson, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman cast... and each of these actors are great professionals... not known for grotesque over-acting... nor are they known for their camp sensibilities. They are known for great performances, even with bad material. Suddenly there is an air of class to this film unlike any of the others. I can't imagine stamping BATDANCE on this sucker -

Then there have been the script leaks - fantastic energizing sounding stories. A film with a sense of scope, yet the sound of intimacy. The locations that have been leaked look fantastic. Now we hear about Ken Watanabe being selected to play Ra's Al Ghul -- Not exactly what I had in my mind's eye for the ol fella, but a bold majestic choice. One that promises once again to not be CARTOONISH, which oddly - the animated series never was.

I'm hoping that we get a Summer teaser trailer that blows our minds. One that hints to the new theme. One that sets the size of the myth. One that gets us more excited than we already are, because I can honestly believe that this movie could be one of the great ones. Let's continue to hope and believe -- even if the shield is fucking up all their other hero films.
