Wanna support DONNIE DARKO: THE DIRECTOR'S CUT' Click here for premiere info!!!!

Ahoy, squirts. Quint here... and let me tell you... This is one seaman who loves Richard Kelly's work so far. DONNIE DARKO kicks an untold amount of ass and I'm very excited about this director's cut that's being released. I got the below info about the premiere of this cut, which will take place at the Seattle International Film Festival. I'm seriously contemplating traveling up to the fest to show my support because apparently the studio is going to be judging what kind of release the Director's Cut gets based on how it plays in Seattle. So, for all your geek brothers around the US, nay... the world. Go give DONNIE DARKO the support it deserved on its first theatrical run!!!

Hey Harry,

This has apparantly been news for a few days, but a release date and location has been set for the Director's Cut of Donnie Darko. It will be revealed at the Seattle Film Festival on May 29th. More info on that can be found at This Website!!! A wider release of the extended cut will be determined by viewer's reactions.

Another bit of Kelly news, the website for his upcoming film, Southland Tales has been put online at www.southlandtales.com. This thing kind of popped up out of nowhere, and seems to have surpassed Knowing has Kelly's next film. It's the furthest along in development from what I can tell with a cast and filming date already set. The premise over at IMDb doesn't really entice me too much, but I'm guessing it's a bit vague. "A musical/comedy set in 2008 where a three-day heatwave in Los Angeles culminates in a huge Fourth of July party." The site, with what's there at the moment is interesting. It definately has a style to it that was evident in Darko. I guess I'll just have to wait for the trailer to see what it has in store for us.
