FARSCAPE Details From Comic-Con!!

I am – Hercules!!

Man, a lot goes down in San Diego over four days. Here’s “Erendis” on what was learned about the “Farscape” miniseries due on SciFi Oct. 17:

It seems as though all your AICN peeps were handcuffed to the chairs of Hall H. It’s understandable, but I saw a request for info on the Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars and figured I could help out.

My main goal as a Farscape fan was to attend the panel at comic-con. So I actually left the star wars panel early, missing the title announcement- that’s how much I love Farscape. The panel consisted of David Kemper, Rockne O’Bannon, Brian Henson, Claudia Black, Ben Browder, and Tom Vitale. They started with the trailer- this is NOT what they showed on the sci-fi channel (that was a teaser)- this was a full length trailer, and I must say that it kicked major ass. Major things that I remember- Grayza (aka Commandant Cleavage) is pregnant! Sikozu, Scorpius, and Stark all were prominent within the trailer, as well as our intrepid crew. A Scarran says to Aeryn “You will never be reunited with your baby”. Overall, it looks really good.

Panel goodies: Expect Zhaan to appear in the miniseries somehow- “her spirit is always with Moya”. While at Virginia Hey’s autograph booth, there was chatter that led me to believe that she is definitely in the mini. Brian Henson expressed his gratitude to the fans for their efforts and said that it was an independent financer that learned about Farscape through the fans which made the miniseries possible. Claudia Black will be in 3 episodes of Stargate, opposite Michael Shanks- she said she felt like she was cheating, after playing opposite Ben for so long. Ben got choked up as he recalled the series cancellation and leaving the cast and crew he had worked with for so long, but everyone came back as soon as they heard about the miniseries. There was a lot of questions about behind-the-scenes stuff on Farscape in general. One person commented on how the aliens in Farscape are so different than most other sci-fi series, which gave birth to a new tagline : “Farscape: different from the waist down!” Overall, everyone was incredibly funny and were genuinely overjoyed to be there. (Tom Vitale did not get so much love from the audience, but there was no rudeness at least)

A final thought:

David Kemper had this to say about the mini: “don’t watch it alone”

He also said something about locking up your knives - so don’t expect the mini to tie a neat little bow around the end. They’ve left it with plenty of room to continue, perhaps through another mini, maybe a movie, who knows? They’re keeping their options open.
