Ahoy, squirts! Quint here asking for your support. The idea of a 24/7 Horror Channel makes me giddy. Imagine, if you will, a channel dedicated only to horror films... Obscure, famous, old, new and everywhere in between. I imagine since this is a cable service we'll be seeing these films uncut... My god... It'd be like having an All-Horror TCM (Turner Classic Movies). I wonder if they're going to be presenting the films in their original aspect ratio because they can't have a horror channel without having John Carpenter films (he is, afterall, on the board of advisors for this channel) and you can't do a Carpenter film justice unless it's shown in its original widescreen glory.
Just think of the programming it could produce. Nights dedicated to FRIDAY THE 13TH, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, PHANTASM, RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD, NIGHT OF THE DEMONS, WOLF MAN... Or even better... A marathon of the best rip-off movies... SLEEPAWAY CAMP and ALLIGATOR being the two that come to mind. I would love it if this channel takes a page out of TCM's book and sprinkles a lot of obscure horror from every decade. As a horror nut, it'd be cool to click over and see films I know and love, but it'd be even cooler to see films I've never seen from the '60s, '70s or '80s... Get the unknown classics like BUTCHER BAKER NIGHTMARE MAKER, run Fulci (not just the famous ones, how about THE PSYCHIC?) and Argento and Bava marathons...
What about horror TV? What I wouldn't give to have the uncut HBO TALES FROM THE CRYPT to run a couple times a day... How about TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE? MONSTERS?
The possibilities are endless and I'm in full support. Matter of fact, I'm going to sign the petition myself when I finish this intro. If you consider yourself any sort of splatter-freak you best bust a move over to the Horror Channel's website. Keep in mind all the specific programming stuff above came from my head... I have no idea what they're planning with this channel, but it could be something great. But it can't be a success without you! Check the info below!!!

Thought you might want to mention this-I noticed on the horror channel website that they are really pushing for folks to sign petitions to get the channel on cable and satellite when it comes on in a couple months. They have links to a ton of different cable companies, both major sat companies and more-they really want folks to sign up so this will work. I know AICN has mentioned this channel in the past and I think it might be a great thing-so maybe you could throw up a mention and get folks to head over and sign a petition.
