Bad Robot Wednesday!!!!ALIAS To Follow LOST!! ABC Slates Two Solid Hours of Abrams SciFi!!

I am – Hercules!!

ABC announced Tuesday a new kind of Wednesday.

The J.J. Abrams-created scifi action comedy-drama “Alias” will, effective January, begin airing at 9 p.m. Wednesdays, where it will follow the J.J. Abrams-created scifi action comedy-drama “Lost.”

The two-hour fourth-season premiere of "Alias" is slated for 9 p.m. Jan. 5.

All this means the witless and insanely popular sitcom crapfest "Desperate Housewives" is hanging on to the old "Alias" slot on Sunday. Which means fans of quality shows like "Six Feet Under," "Carnivale" and "Deadwood" will continue to feel a lot less conflicted on Sunday nights.

The bad news is "Alias" is landing in a tough timeslot, opposite the Fox juggernaut "American Idol" as well as "The West Wing," "King of Queens," "Kevin Hill" and, if it lasts till January, the WB's "Jack & Bobby."

"The Bachelorette," which used get beat up by "Idol," is moving to Mondays at 9 p.m., which should give "Everwood" a run for its money.

Interestingly, "Bachelorette" will now be sandwiched between two other ABC reality shows, "Extreme Makeover" and "Supernanny." This is the first time in my memory any network has slated three solid hours of regular reality programming on a single night. Well, unless one counts "Monday Night Football."
