Wonderful Trailer For NOCHNOJ DOZOR (aka NIGHT WATCH) Lands Online! One of the Greatest Cool As Hell Films!

Hey folks, Harry here... Since last summer AICN has been telling you about NIGHT WATCH, and I'm not gonna stop now. This movie is coming, and when it hits a theater near you... GO! It is so rare that a film at the coolness level of CITY OF LOST CHILDREN, DAY OF THE BEAST, DEAD ALIVE or EVIL DEAD 2 hits America with a big national push. The film is beyond phenomenal - and what is even more amazing is how FOX SEARCHLIGHT is supporting the film. They spent a fortune to create something that is essentially the coolest possible version of subtitles. Something we've never seen in the history of foreign films, but we most likely will see more of after this film. Foreign Film exhibition in this country has always been an either DUB it or SUBTITLE it type of thing, and it looks like Fox Searchlight hit upon an idea that preserves the original flavor of the film being Russian, while also making it perfectly clear as subtitles - what it is they're saying... but that is, in and of itself cool as hell. I'm dying to see it on the big screen - and yes I am working on having screenings of the film in places all over that AICN can point ya to. But first here's the trailer:

Well, I hope you enjoyed that as much as me! But if you didn't... baby Jesus weeps for you. Take care.

To the Talkbackers below advocating picking this up on Import DVD - and to you readers considering it too. Don't. In just a very short amount of time this will be in a theater. On the big screen. The subtitles on the import discs are piss poor - not in reading quality, but in actual translation. The theatrical version of this that will be playing very soon in theaters near you were adapted by the screenwriter that has written James Cameron's BATTLEANGEL ALITA, and the word is they are absolutely stunning. Plus - Fox spent gobs of money to create a new form of subtitles that are unlike anything we've ever seen before and actually ENHANCE the emotional connection and stylization of the film. If you can't stop yourself and have to see an inferior product immediately - remember all of this when the film comes out and go see the film. This isn't going to be playing just in the major cities at a Landmark theater - where most of you can't see it. They're planning on a wider release than that. Support this - or the only place you'll see movies like this is on your precious import DVDs, and we all know we'd kill to see many of those that you already own up on the big screen the first couple of times we saw it. Right?
