Hey folks, Harry here with such glorious news that I barely know how to contain myself. However, the concept that there is a possibility that one day in the future - we'll see GODZILLA in 3D IMAX... in an all new film directed by Yoshimitsu Banno of Smog Monster infamy... be still my beating my heart. MAN IN SUIT!!! MAN IN SUIT!!! MAN IN SUIT!!! This makes me so happy!
Hello Harry, hope is all well with you. I'm a big fan
of your website and I enjoy reading the movie reviews
and scoops you provide to us on a daily basis. Good
stuff!! Anyway, I'm a big fan of the Japanese Lizard
known as Godzilla or as you guys have him referenced
before as "THE MAN IN SUIT" and there is a story about
a possible new film to be filmed. Information is that
Yoshimitsu Banno, director of 1971's bizarre film
entitled Godzilla vs. Hedorah (aka "Godzilla vs. the
Smog Monster") is planning to direct a new Godzilla
film called "Godzilla 3D To The Max". The planned
short feature (40 minutes) will supposedly combine the
talents of Toho Studios with Hollywood CG and 3-D
effects from Advanced Audiovisual Productions Inc.,
all on display on a 70mm 3D IMAX movie.
The story focuses on a monster called Deathla from
outer space to pose a threat to all life on the planet
earth, similar to what Hedorah's character was as a
monster of pollution. The monster Deathla battles
Godzilla in specific locations of the world, Iguassu
waterfall (border between Brazil & Argentina) and New
York. The creature Deathla appears to be a
shape-shifter of some sort from being a swarm of
flying locusts to a massive beast with gigantic
sckelton-like head with various sluglike weapons.
Seems that Banno will focus on pollution and the
enviroment.
It appears that Toho has already granted the director
permission to make the film, but won't finance the
project. Seems like a fun type of film to watch if it
goes through. The big G in it's full eight- story tall
IMAX movie screen glory.
The specifications, synopsis and financial planning
can be obtained from the link below, Advanced
Audiovisual Productions Inc. website which provides
much more information to the proposed film.
