Neil Gaiman's STARDUST optioned by...

Received this scoop from a rather tempting character named Desire. I just felt this craving urge to pass it along to you, and the last thing Desire told me was that (it's a strange entity so I don't know the proper pronoun) was creating the desire in Jon Peters to give the rights to SANDMAN back to Neil, on the idea that in 10 years he'll receive the rights to the TELETUBBIES for feature film possibilities with Anne Heche as the purple one.... Let's hope...

STARDUST, which is a novel by Neil Gaiman [out now from Avon Books (and out in a much harder to find illustrated edition by Charles Vess from DC Comics)] has been optioned to Miramax films.

It's a fairy story for adults, about a young man who promises the girl he's in love with that he will bring her back a fallen star, a journey that takes him rather further than he expects.

Gaiman will be writing it, and Executive Producing it. At this point they have no idea whether it'll be for Miramax or for Dimension.

hope this is of interest

desire.
