Well, it was a #1 Best Selling Novel for quite some time. And I'm willing to bet anything Moriarty has strong feelings aimed at this project. It has a great cast that includes Tobey Maguire, Charlize Theron, Delroy Lindo (who should be working alot more often), Paul Rudd, Michael Caine, Jane Alexander, Kieran Culkin (who should have picked up a best actor nomination for THE MIGHTY), Heavy D and Kate Nelligan. And... This time John Irving wrote the script, so there shouldn't be any left field explorations like in Simon Birch last year. (Though I was quite fond of that film) Well... Here ya go... Alright, now if this shot doesn't get you VAGUELY interested in the film on a purely intellectual Gene Wilder/Teri Garr sort of way... Then there is something terribly wrong with ya.
Man! Is Tobey on a streak of good projects or what? I'm pulling for him in this one and in Ang Lee's latest. Looks like he's up for another great year.
Why isn't Michael Caine in more movies? I mean... Here's a guy that is just soooooo damn good. Gene Hackman still gets lots of parts... Why not Michael? Personally I can't wait to see him in this.
