More on this ROCKY 6 rumor

Until I hear from someone official on this project, I'm going to officially qualify this as a RUMOR and not truth... However, the source does have some 'realness' that I can't really go into right now because of the danger it might put the spy in. So, for the moment it will simply be considered a rumor, though it is a rumor that I'm willing to say is closer to reality than most rumors... Personally, I'm a huge fan of the ROCKY movies... In fact I love all the ROCKY films except for ROCKY V which I thought blew serious chunks. From the description Adam Ace is giving... this does sounds like the film I wanted the fifth one to be, but didn't get. It's kinda sad the bum rap that ROCKY gets, because I believe that the first film is hands down one of the great films of all time (at least in my mindset) and I remember watching ROCKY III all the way up till BLADE RUNNER took it's place at the Fox theater here in Austin. I saw Rocky III so many times my father actually became worried about me, but dammit... that whole Carl Weathers/Sylvester Stallone/Eye Of THe Tiger bit was just waaaaay too cool. But, I'm hoping a return to the beauty and stunning drama of the first Rocky... and a great final bookend. I have my fingers crossed.

Adam Ace here:

I was very disheartened to read the Talkbacks below your most recent ROCKY 6 article. Many people clearly do not understand the gravity of the project, and are judging it without knowing all the facts.

Let me see if I can bring some clarity to the topic:

1) ROCKY 6 will not actually be called ROCKY 6 The final title will include the name ROCKY, but it will not be a numerical title.

2) Many name stars (some of them are favorites of your site's readers) have already been approached about this project. Including Samuel L. Jackson, who might play Rocky's new trainer.

3) Quentin Tarantino has already talked to Stallone about directing this project. While Stallone is scripting the project, he does not want to direct it.

4) Look for MANY of the characters and favorites to return from previous ROCKY movies: including (but not limited to) the Loan Shark, Mr. T and Ivan Drago (T and Drago appear in the form of "interviews" about the life and career of Rocky Balboa).

5) This new ROCKY film will be very intense and serious. It will be absolutely, positively the last ROCKY film. Yes, that is what was said the last time, but this time? Well, this time there will not be room for further sequels. This latest ROCKY film will be very conclusive for the - career - of Mr. Balboa.

6) Stallone is returning ROCKY to its origins. He wants to capture the desperate, bittersweet, and sometimes sad grit and realism of the first two ROCKY movies. The closest thing that comes to my mind is RAGING BULL. He wants it to have passion, style, truth, and (excuse the joke) punch - and some of the things that happen in the storyline may accomplish just that. THIS IS NOT A CHEESY, KNOCK-OFF FRANCHISE MOVIE. This will be a real, solid drama. If you believe anything less, you're just plain wrong.

7) The storyline? SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!
