Pac Man just got back from a press conference about 3 hours ago in LONDON this morning, and sent in this report about what was said. Interesting bits about the speculation of what to do on a 'STAR WARS EPISODE ONE DVD'. It'd be nice to have the other films out first (in both regular and special edition formats!) But enough of that, on to the eater of Pinky...

Love the site, I'm a long time reader but have never found any information to tell you about, until now.

Just got back to the office from a press conference hosted by Lucasfilm/Lucasarts, held over here in London at the Fox office. Present were Jack Sorenesen (President of Lucasarts), Jake Lloyd and Rick McCallum (sorry, don't know how to spell his surname).

The whole point was to talk about the videogames and crossover stuff between the two media, how the games compliment the movie, and Jake Lloyd going on about how he's so good at the games, but he enjoyed being in the movie more than seeing himself in a game.

A long Q and A session followed where people were asking about DVD, PlayStation 2 and stuff, Rick said they wanted to wait and see how DVD develops before they enter the market, and then to unleash an amazing package. He said they had something like 700 hundred hours of behind the scenes footage, which they wanted to edit down to something like 30, but they'd prefer all the extra stuff to sit on one disk.

Blah, blah, blah lots more boring questions, standard answers, and then the PR women broke up the talk, and said Rick and Jack had to go. But they were up for more questions so conducted some little one-on-one interviews, Rick was besieged by a bunch of people asking him about the Star Wars experience. He seemed quite keen and open to talking about everything, and as in the talk beforehand he was dismissing everything on the internet left, right and centre when this one fella from some computer magazine or another asks him about Indy IV. and here's what he said...

"We've got a fantastic script, and everyone really wants to do it. We've now got to wait for everyone to be free, George is tied up as you know, Steven is busy for a couple of years, and Harrison is commited for the next 18 months. But the script is great and age is not a problem. I think we'll get it together in about three or four years."

And being as this little presentation was about games and the crossover This bloke then asked Rick if Atlantis would play a part in the movie. He leans back, and dramatically gets cryptic...

"Watch the stars, and watch the desert"

And that's all he said.

Wow.

I've already told a bunch of friends, and we all reckon it's got to have something to do with Egypt, the Pyramids, and the Sphinx and stuff.

And it looks like it'll be set quite a few years after the last movie, to allow for Harrison to age gracefully.

I don't know if it's much, but I've waited for years for this movie, and after hearing it from someone who knows what's going on, it just makes it more appetising. I can't wait!
