This was sent in by Tim just so that we know that Timothy Spall has not been cast as Gimli as was previously reported by Cinescape I believe. Meanwhile reports to the contrary on the Jeffery Combs have surfaced, however my source on that rumor, a very very strong source, still says the story is good. I guess we'll see. Also, the word is that the entire cast should be announced at some point in September.
Brit mag SFX (http://www.sfx.co.uk) have reported on their site that Timothy Spall is not Gimli, on their web site they said the following:
'SFX can blow one at least one rumour out of the water. Timothy Spall is not cast, despite internet gossip that he would be playing dwarven warrior Gimli, a role he would admittedly be well suited. When we asked New Line, they said “where did you read that? We know nothing about it.” We also rang his agents, Markham and Froggatt Ltd, who informed us Spall is currently filming in France and was unavailable for comment. They assured us “he’s not been cast, really, we’ve not even had an offer."'
