JURASSIC PARK 3 rolling forward slowly

Hey folks Harry here, just got done reading this article by Michael Fleming and Chris Petrikin on the third JURASSIC PARK movie and it set me to wondering about the project, the series and where it is headed.

I've never been quite 100% sated by the series so far, and in all honesty I still prefer THE VALLEY OF GWANGI simply for the personality and dynamics. While thinking about a third installment, I keep thinking back to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's THE LOST WORLD and what a wonderful structure that story had for Dinosaur mayhem. I mean... Is what we want really Dinosaurs loose in populated areas eating lots of people? Or would we simply prefer 3 people washing ashore as castaways, having survived some terrible accident only to find themselves on an island of dinosaurs.

I don't know which direction they are going to go for this next film, but I just hope it works on the script level with intense character situations. Strong character development is what I crave most. I want characters that I legitamately care for. And please.... no children this time. Please.

Of course with Joe Johnston directing I really am excited. His OCTOBER SKY was one of the better films I've seen this year and his THE ROCKETEER really spoke volumes about adventure. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
