I caught an interview on ABC 7 in Chicago today with the lovely Cate Blanchett. It was mostly concerning "The Talented Mr. Ripley" but at the end she was asked about the speculation concerning her replacing Jodie Foster in "The Silence of the Lambs" sequel. To this Cate replied "rumor, rumor, rumor" and then elaborated on this with praise of Jodie and saying Jodie was "irreplacable."
So on the surface she seemed fairly up front, saying there was nothing in the works. But Cate wrapped up by saying "we'll see" with this awkward, knowing smile.
We'll see indeed...
