Lucasfilm comments about Episode 1 dvd rumors

Hey folks, Harry here with a little more info about the infamous.... STAR WARS EPISODE ONE dvd.... rumors. Here's what Lucasfilm has to say about it.

Hey Harry,

After George Lucas' now infamous call in to KROQ in L.A. rumours have been abound as to the validity of his statements concerning the EP1 DVD. Well low and behold here comes some more information my way that I thought I would hand over to the Great Geeked One:

IGN Sci-Fi chatted with a Lucasfilm spokesperson who confirmed that "Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace" will be released on DVD, and sooner than many of us had thought. George Lucas had originally said that he didn't have time to oversee the disc's production, and as a result no DVD would come out until Episode III was done. Star Wars honcho Rick McCallum later seemed to confirm this, telling people back in January, "We don't anticipate releasing any of the Star Wars movies on DVD in the foreseeable future." But apparently George Lucas has had a change of heart. According to the Lucasfilm spokesperson, the company has changed its course based on the massive amount of feedback it received from Star Wars fans and DVD aficionados. So now Lucas will try to get the DVD released as soon as his schedule permits.

Hey maybe Lucas does have a heart after all : )

Talk to you later!
