Hey folks, Here is a ton of info from Timbuktu about Steven Soderbergh's TRAFFIC and man.... Folks, from what I hear about the shooting of this film, Soderbergh is filling every frame... all the backgrounds... graffitti on the walls, the types of products... Irony is everywhere. I can't wait to see this film, and you good folks up there have a chance to be a part of this film, so... Hop to it! Don't be Harrison Ford! Be Cool, Work on TRAFFIC, it's a great script, a great director and a great cast.
Hey Head Geek,
Read the Traffic report today, sounds cool. The production is indeed moving
on to Mexico next, followed by Texas and Washington, D.C. Word around
Cowtown is that Soderbergh and company will be carting their kilos and
hypodermics into Columbus, OH here within a couple of weeks, after the D.C.
shoot.
Starting in late May, shooting will last for four weeks (a little longer
than I previously reported) and involve over 100 extras and between $3
million and $5 million of the film's budget.
From an article on the Ohio Film Commission's website:
"There will be 26 different locations between Columbus and Cincinnati.
Scenes will include downtown portions of both cities" according to Steve
Cover, State Film Commissioner. "Currently they are filming in San Diego
and will move on to Mexico, Texas, and Washington D.C. before they arrive
in Ohio."
The reported cast (though not necessarily those who will be in Ohio)
includes Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Dennis Quaid, James Brolin,
Amy Irving, Don Cheadle, Benicio del Toro, Luiz Guzman, and Erika
Christensen.
The Ohio shoot will involve 26 locations, including the downtown sections
of both Columbus and Cincinnati.
Anyway, they're calling for headshots for anyone who is over 18 years old
and would like to be an extra in the film.
So if you live in the area, you can mail a 3X5 or larger head shot to:
ATTN: Traffic-Columbus
7201 Melrose Ave. #D
Los Angeles, CA 90046
Here's the criteria for the head shot, taken as well from the site:
On the back of your photo, please include your name, phone numbers, height
and weight. Photos will not be returned. All photos must be received by
May 15, 2000.

As a stringent film buff, I must make a note,BTW, that the site incorrectly
lists Pleasantvilleas one of Soderbergh's credits.
As always, keep up the good work.
Until next time,
