A Look at the Audition for the Luc Besson/Jet Li flick KISS OF THE DRAGON

Hey folks, Harry here with some coolness from that Besson/Li project, which seems to be moving quite quickly actually.... looks like they'll be trying to get this baby in the can before the strike.... Rushing martial arts films ain't a real great idea... accidents and such... great choreography just takes a lot of time and rehearsals... Jet has some of MATRIX 2 and 3 to shoot before the strike... so he's got a busy busy buuuuusszzzzy schedule it looks like... Here ya go...

Hey Harry,

Jimi Dylan here with some info you may already know. My friend auditioned for the new Luc Besson/Jet Li flick and it's title is "Kiss of the Dragon". Anyway he was asked to play a pilot escorting Jet somewhere. So if he gets the part, look out for that!

Anyway he gave me a copy of the lines he had to revise. According to the script, Jet's name is Liu. Now the interesting thing is my friend was not so sure that Luc is directing, but he knows he has definately written it. Anyway I will type out the 2 pages I have out in front of me for your exclusive pleasure. It does sound interesting... and oh yeah, for all you that think this isn't the script,

DO YOU THINK I REALLY HAVE THE TIME TO SIT BY MY P.C AND CONSTRUCT A SCREENPLAY SOLELY TO SEND TO AICN AS SOMEONE ELSES WORK WHEN I CAN USE IT FOR MY OWN PURPOSES?? here goes...

Another man talking on his cell phone against the wall also watching him closely. A cleaning maid also with her eyes on him. The atmosphere grows more tense by the moment but Liu stays calm. Centered. Passes into...

9 INT. BAR - NIGHT

As Liu sits at the bar waiting for something to happen, he notices an obvious bodyguard fiddling with his earphone. His view is abruptly cut off by a...

Pilot
So how you doing pal?

In uniform, flight bag ready to go by his side. Liu does not respond.

Pilot
Just here for a little pre take off take off...

As he lifts with his drink.

Pilot
Gives new meaning to flying the friendly skies...
how about you? Buy you a drink?

Liu
No thank you.

Pilot
So where you from?

Liu
Shanghai.

Pilot
China! My favorite. Love the food. Chinese
food? The best. The way they cut things
into little pieces so you don't need
to use that heavy silverware. Brilliant invention
the chopstick. Civilized. I mean we're
like barbarians... sticking our food with forks...
hacking it up with knives.

Liu just nods politely

Pilot
First time in Paris?

Liu
Yes.

Pilot
Great!

As he leans close to Liu.

Pilot
(whispers)
Men's toilet. Now.

Drains his drink. Lifts his flight bag.

Pilot
You're gonna have the time of your life.

Exits.

10. INT HALLWAY - NIGHT

Liu walks down a narrow hallway toward the bathroom. A porter cleans the floor in front of the door. Does not regard Liu at all as he passes through the door. But hangs a sign on the door as soon as it closes: OUT OF ORDER

11. INT BATHROOM - NIGHT

Liu stands in the empty bathroom. Looks around. Two stalls open. Two mysterious men, well dressed, but with an air of the street about them. A hint of danger.

Man 1
Hands up please.

Liu obeys. Both men run metal detectors over his body.

A THIRD MAN appears, casually lights a cigarette. This could take a while.

First they find Liu's passport, hand it to the third man.

The detector passes over a charm with chinese calligraphy on it which hangs around Liu's neck The detector goes off. The man regards the charm, continues his sweep. The second detector beeps as it sweeps his back. Man 2 lifts Liu's jacket to a gun tucked in the small of his back. He ignores it.

After carefully examining the heels of his shoes, the buckle of his belt, the buttons on his coat, down his wrists where the sensors beep again. The men pull back his sleeves to reveal two delicate bracelets made of different coloured beads, almost affeminate.

Man 1
(sarcastic)
Is this what the well dressed man wears in Shanghai these days?

And that is the end of the second page. Kind of like a cliff hanger don't you think. Anyway Harry, Jimi Dylan outtyfihunred. Peace
