El Cosmico here, a reader notes something out of the old Official Playstation Magazine...
I don't know if you've heard about the rumors, but in the Oct. issue of
Official Playstation Magazine they talk about "top secret information"
concerning the DVD releases of all four Star Wars films. There is a team
working on the project gathering all the necessary stuff from ILM THX.
They
are working for a Nov. and Dec. of this year! Someone told official
Playstation that the titles were listed for release before christmas and
that
we will see Episode 1 followed by the original trilogy as individual movies
and as a box set before the end of the year! If you doubt this, go pick up
the OCTOBER Issue of Official Playstation Magazine! It's on page 108. If
this is true and if you can shed some more light on the project, I would
be
very Thankful. Thanks,
Joshua Geier
Thank you, Mr. Josh. Anybody out there want to confirm or deny this? Talkback!
Speaking of the Playstation, the new PS2 is due to have unit shipments cut! Check out this story over at CNET, Seems that the big S is cutting shipments IN HALF to a 500,000 unit initial run, with an additional 100,000 units shipped per week through the end of the year. According to Sony, it will get easier after the holidays. Great. Is this really that big a deal? Well, no, because if you want a cool next-gen console, you can always just get a Sega Dreamcast. At worst, you might have to wait a couple of months extra. Okay, maybe three or four. Okay, if you're a hardcore gamer, that's a living hell. Well, this news sure makes me glad that I placed my PS2 pre-order back in May.
