Quint Chimes In With News From The World Of Stephen King!

Hey folks, Harry here... now none of this is particularly film news... but with King... every paragraph written is potential MOVIE NEWS! Especially to us folk. Personally I want to see Guillermo Del Toro directing THE DARK TOWER epic film series some day (though I have no idea if Guillermo is interested) and where the hell is our TALISMAN flick? AAAAAaccckkk... Here's that blustery bit of man flesh soaked in salt, Seaman QUINT.....

Ahoy there, Constant Reader. 'Tis everybody's favorite crusty seaman here once more. I just got this press release from Stephen King about the shelving of his online novel, The Plant, until he gets some of his other projects out of the way.

Now, I'm a Stephen King junkie. I've read every novel, novella and short story he's ever published. I've seen every movie adaptation of one of his novels. I even own a fucking original poster for his one directorial effort, Maximum Overdrive.

I'm a particularly huge fan of his fantasy writing. That's why I'm so happy with this announcment. The Talisman is one of my all time favs, only over shadowed by King's Dark Tower series, both of which he's expanding upon as we speak.

Take a look at what the master has to say:

"Following December‚s installment of this story--December‚s very long installment of this story--The Plant will be going back into hibernation so that I can continue work on Black House (the sequel to The Talisman, written in collaboration with Peter Straub). I also need to complete work on two new novels (the first, Dreamcatcher, will be available from Scribner‚s next March) and see if I can‚t get going on The Dark Tower again.

Best regards (and happy holidays),
Stephen King"

What new adventures lay ahead for Jack Sawyer, our young hero in Talisman? What is the fate of everybody's favorite Gunslinger and his "Ka-tet"? How does Randall Flagg fit into both universes? Only time will tell.

There you have it, Constant Reader. The latest and greatest from Stephen King. With upcoming additions to both The Talisman and The Dark Tower Series, a new novel, Dreamcatcher, Romero taking on The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon... AND Anthony Hopkins starring in Hearts In Atlantis... well, the wonderful world of Stephen King is flourishing once more.

I am off to go adventuring with Roland, Jake, Eddie Dean and Susannah. Soon, we will all be one step closer to the Dark Tower. 'Til then, Constant Reader, this is Quint, signing off.
