Hey folks, Harry here with a report on the first screening of the finished version of MOULIN ROUGE. Earlier last year we had word that the film was amazing, but had some structural issues, but that Baz was doing some specific reshoots to fix those problems... Well, looks like it is fixed. The Man With No Name.... a person with a mean draw.... was in the extremely private exec only screening for MOULIN ROUGE and gives us the Exec reaction at Fox to Baz's latest. Now, if accurate we should suddenly begin to see an extreme push by Fox on this film... Perhaps they'll screen it at ShoWest.... Perhaps they'll begin showing it early to build buzz on the film from the best place it can come from... The audience. This is a film I think everyone should be excited to see. Here's the man with no name...
Baz Luhrmann screened 'MOULIN ROUGE' for all the top execs at Fox on fri. night at the lot and it was a triumph.
Nicole Kidman will win best actress and all the suits were ecstatic, the musical numbers, starting w/'roxanne',were spectacular. this will be the immediate front runner for the oscars.
i heard some of the suits compare baz to orson welles! Saw Tom Rothman, the chairman, kiss Baz twice afterwards!
Also saw the wives of the execs in tears,and heard one of them assure her husband, "Told you not to worry about 'TITANIC',and i'm telling you not to worry now!"
Film isn't yet completed, but tttttttttthis is a masterpiece. This guy reinvented the musical to the millenium
