John Woo to produce a remake Sam Peckinpah's THE KILLER ELITE

Hey folks, Harry here.... The Hollywood Reporter is reporting this morning that John Woo and his producing pard... Terrence Chang have gotten the deal to produce a remake of Sam Peckinpah's THE KILLER ELITE which starred James Caan, Robert Duval, Mako and many others... The film is considered by some to be 'bottom end Peckinpah' but frankly I'm quite fond of the film... and if they keep it as dark as they should, it could be a good film. Now the director is to be Terry Cunningham from the script by John Jarrell, now if Woo were directing this himself I'd be a tad more excited about the whole thing... And I still hope it is a homerun for him, but the screenwriter was one of the writers behind ROMEO MUST DIE and that doesn't instill too much confidence, but I'll root for it simply because of Woo's involvement... but no matter what my dvd of THE KILLER ELITE is safe and in my collection forever! Here's some goodies from the original...
