Hey folks, Harry here with a bit about David Sedaris and Wayne Wang.... he doesn't say which one, but personally I hope it is ME TALK PRETTY ONE DAY, and with Matthew Broderick playing him.... he will... hehehe.... Nice as hell cast.... if they can nail it down....
I was fortunate enough to see a reading by the wonderful author David Sedaris last night. I had only heard his short essays and commentaries on NPR, but my girlfriend assured me that his books were great. It turned out to be one of the funniest evenings I have ever spent. He is tremendous writer and his stories are hysterical.
Now to the part that will hopefully interest you and your readers. During his question and answer period, some one asked if a movie were made of his life who would play him and his family. He replied that one his books was already under development. Wayne Wang would be directing the film. Jack Lemon and Gena Rowlands have been approached to play his parents, Brendan Sexton his younger brother, and Matthew Broderick as David himself. He didn't know Brendan Sexton, he described him as the little guy in "Boys Don't Cry" with the mustache. Mr. Sedaris commented how much he liked Wayne Wang and the movie "Smoke". He closed by saying you never know about movies though, a lot of the time they never get made.
Let's hope this one does.
