Action film mistro Renny Harlin (Deep Blue Sea) was asked about the possibility of a Deep Blue Sea 2 at the Driven press junket. In reply, Harlin said, "We are working on a script and there will be a sequel to it. I'll let somebody else direct it. I'll just be on dry land producing, giving my blessing." He went on to say about the plot, "They will probably be in a little town that might get flooded".
