Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

So I recently had the good fortune to upgrade to DSL service, courtesy of the fine people at Earthlink (shameless plug in progress), and it's made my life so much easier. I was on a 56K modem before that, and when you spend most of your professional life online, that delay can add up.

One of the benefits of getting a really, really, surprisingly fast DSL line installed in the Labs has been viewing trailers and short films. I've seen some really good content out there, and I'm still trying to work out what sort of showcase we can have here at AICN for the very best of what's out there.

I'll say this, though: BMW Films has a contender for my favorite short on the web right now. It's the second part of their David Fincher-produced series THE HIRE, featuring Clive (CROUPIER) Owen as a driver who gets into a series of tight spots while driving... you guessed it... a BMW.

It might sound cheesy, but the first installment, AMBUSH, was directed by John Frankenheimer and written by Andrew Kevin Walker. I thought it was a decent car chase, but not much more, and I though the series might turn out to be a great press release with nothing to really back it up.

That was before I saw Ang Lee's CHOSEN.

Great car chase. Great, stylish, smart, funny car chase. Something I haven't seen in a long time. Ang Lee has convinced me finally. He can do anything he wants. In just over six minutes, he's made a little gem here, and there's an awesome nod to what we're going to see Ang do next that should make you smile.

It made me smile, anyway. A lot. Enjoy.
