Of course we'd be getting news from WizardWorld. Why wouldn't we? When this many people from the industry get together in one place and there's panels and signings and appearances, something's going to get said, and thank god for readers like JINGLE DALE who are there to report those nuggets back to us.

I'm an unabashed Paul Dini fan. He redefines the very paradigm of acting in his onscreen time during JAY & SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK. The back cover of the published script for BATMAN BEYOND: RETURN OF THE JOKER proves that Dini is the sexiest man in all of comics. The uncut copy of BB:ROTJ that I have at my house, provided to me only after intense negotiation with an off-shore source, has been played to death, and I need an official Warner Bros. release. Well, here's what Dini had to say about that possibility:

I attended the first day of the Wizard Con today, and during a Q & A with Paul Dini, someone asked if there were any developments on a special edition DVD of BATMAN BEYOND: RETURN OF THE JOKER that would restore the scenes that Warner Bros. trimmed from the initial release. He replied that there HAS been some talk about it recently, most likely a version with different cover art so it's not mistaken for the family-friendly version.

He also mentioned that it seemed like the BATMAN BEYOND live-action movie is dead in the water (or words to that effect).

I have heard the same buzz about the live-action BATMAN BEYOND, but there's a ton of other BATMAN live-action projects in development at Warner. Figuring out what ends up in front of the camera is going to be no easy feat. In the meantime, give fans a taste of the good stuff, eh? Give 'em BB:ROTJ on DVD, a nice collector's package. Soak us a bit... it's okay. I'll pay $24.99 as long as you'll give me every frame.
