Merrick here...
Early last month, Brett Ratner did an interview with MTV regarding BEVERLY HILLS COP 4.
A particular quote in the interview lead many to the logical conclusion that the new BHC project would have a considerably softer tone/rating than its predecessors.
When asked what is biggest challenge would be, Ratner seemed to indicate that his new film would be geared towards a very PG audience.

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here.
Here's the thing about Oliver Platt: Any movie or TV show that he's in, even the worst piece of crap under the sun, is going to be good for at least the stretches of time that Platt is on screen. I don't want to oversell the guy, but he has never put forward a bad performance in anything. Just seeing his face on screen makes me smile, and when he opens his mouth, he makes me laugh.

Earlier this month, through the guys over at CHUD, we learned that a PLANET OF THE APES project...essentially a remake of 1972's CONQUEST OF THE PLANET OF THE APES...was being mulled by Fox (details HERE).

ScoreKeeper here to pay respect to a monster composer, Irving Gertz, who passed away on November 14th, 2008, in Los Angeles, California. He was 93.
If you’re a connoisseur of drive-in monster flicks, science-fiction pulp, or classic cult horror films, then chances are your ears were treated to the music of Irving Gertz. An amazingly prolific, yet often uncredited composer, Gertz’s music accompanied the screams of many hapless victims in films including THE ALLIGATOR PEOPLE (1959)...

Greetings! ScoreKeeper here pointing the way toward an hour-long rare and rather candid interview with the one and only Danny Elfman.
Tommy Pearson of Stage and Screen Online recently conducted an interesting interview with Danny Elfman covering a wide range of topics from his new score to the upcoming biopic about Notorious B.I.G. called NOTORIOUS (2009), to his classic scores of yesterday, and even a touch of American politics just to keep the conversation hot ‘n spicy!

Hey folks, Harry here... If there is a being that defines the spirit of the phrase... AINT IT COOL - to me... it is Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee is my personal Holy Cinematic Spirit God. And that the world of CG and commercials can further reveal the true awesome powers of BRUCE LEE - who DID kick Chuck Norris' ass, btw. Well - greater be the profits of Nokia N96. What you're about to see is the single most awesome and dynamic Ping Pong event in history. I know it isn't real, but fuck reality - this is my new reality. And damn, I wish I had that phone. With Bruce Lee upon it...

Last week, I interviewed Etan Cohen, one-third of the writing team behind the very funny TROPIC THUNDER. Today, I have an interview with another third of the writing team: Justin Theroux. There will be no Ben Stiller interview.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Well, it's that time of year again, isn't it? This time of year is always stressful, but ultimately I find it very rewarding. I don't know if I work as hard on any single thing every year as I do this Guide. It's like all 4 days of Comic-Con at once, or all 12 days of Sundance or all nearly 200 A Movie A Day articles piled on top of each other, but it's worth it. After last year's Gift Guide I was hearing from people who read it all the way into the summer months.
