Longtime AICN spy “MiraJeff” got his hands on the “Weeds” season finale. Zooey Deschanel is it it!! Here’s his appraisal:
The season finale centers on Nancy and Conrad's big drug deal with U-Turn (Page Kennedy).
She's got a pretty busy day ahead of her, and she's filled with anxiety. Her youngest son, Shane, is set to graduate from junior high and his older brother Silas has gone MIA. Mourning the end of her affair with Doug, Celia watches surveillance videos alone in her motel room and spies Silas on one of the tapes before he reaches up and disconnects the camera. Later, Nancy finds all the security cameras and Drug Free Zone signs in Silas' bedroom, realizing that her kid was just looking out for her because he didn't want her to get caught and go to jail.
Celia moseys over to the Botwin household brandishing a gun to confront Silas with, though Nancy quickly puts the kibosh on that plan, but not before Celia squeezes off a round.
Meanwhile, Kat (guest star Zooey Deschanel) tries to convince Andy to flee to South America with her and $1.3 million worth of stolen poker chips, but despite her best efforts and sexual enticement, Andy remains un-swayed.
At the graduation ceremony, Shane gives a speech that works the students into a frenzy, and in the midst of the chaos, he notices Nancy leaving early. Upset, he later runs off with Kat, who steals Andy's van, leaving him to chase after them alongside Abumchuk, the Alaskan bounty hunter who is after Kat.
Also, Dean finds out Doug had an affair with his wife, and the two get into a fight at Shane's graduation party... so...
Conrad asks Heylia to help him with his Peter predicament, but she seems to have already made an arrangement with Kesheshian, the leader of the Armenian pot ring that Peter busted. Peter surprises Nancy and Conrad just as the deal is about to go down, but decides to watch from afar from the safety of his car... until there's a knock on his window. Peter's fate, it seems, remains unseen behind closed (garage) doors.
U-Turn arrives on cue but instead of the drug money, he's brought some high-powered artillery to steal Nancy's miracle harvest.
And that's when the shit really hits the fan and Kesheshian's crew barges in with more automatic weapons, demanding the money U-Turn was supposed to have brought, and the weed Nancy and Conrad were supposed to have grown. But when Nancy cracks open her sticky-icky safe, she finds it empty.
That's when Silas calls in from the road. He has all the drugs in the trunk of his car. Nancy begs him to return the stash and that's when Celia pulls up behind Silas in a squad car, insisting the police arrest Silas for stealing the security cameras.
And that's it. Silas is about to get searched by a cop, Nancy and Conrad have a whole bunch of guns trained on them and no excuses, Peter has been "taken care of," Shane is driving cross-country with a sexy lunatic, and Andy is chasing after them with a crazed Inuit.
Pretty crazy stuff, huh? Can't wait to see what happens in next season's premiere. I am helplessly addicted to this show, so Showtime, hurry up and bring this sucker back so I can get my Weeds fix.
Grade (for the show, the season, and the episode): A
