Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. As a fan of Guy Ritchie's early films (LOCK STOCK and SNATCH), I'm happy to see him coming back to the genre. REVOLVER was a crazy mess. I totally understand why it never got any sort of release (even half-assed) here in the states.

But his new one, ROCKNROLLA, has an interesting cast building so far. They've got Tom Wilkinson (I know I always say it, but he's one of the best character actors working today), Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton, Idris Elba and... Ludacris.

Looks like Butler is the main character, the street-smart crook who can play all sides against each other. Wilkinson is the head of the old mob who has to worry about foreign mobsters taking over his territory. Elba is Butler's partner, Newton is his love interest, etc.

Looks like the main thrust is about a Russian mob boss that orchestrates some sort of crooked land deal which throws millions of dollars up for grabs, causing all of England's crooks to fight for a piece of the pie.

Pretty cool. I want to love a Guy Ritchie movie again. This one sounds like it has the best chance of giving me what I want. What about you?
