Since my review was approaching 1000 words, (Bug hooks a battery to our testicles for every 100 words over 800) I decided to avoid the nits.

Now Defiant...that was an exercise in selling out.

I stand by my review. Shooter may not be a comic God, but those beginning days of Valiant produced some great stories.

This issue of Action was the movie.

I don't know if it was late, when it hits the shelf I buy it. No Previews or Wizard for me, just comics.

I will say though it was victim of a convoluted publishing schedule by starting the story, stopping it, and then concluding it in the annual many months later.

Since I was pulling the shit out of the box and working pro bono, they have never tried to hold anything back from me.

I'll tell you though I blame the greedy fuck retailers as much as the publishers, maybe even more so.

After all the publishers don't reap the fiduciary rewards of a bloated sticker price. They just get a cut of the bar code price.

They might benefit from the hype or they might not, that's a marketing crap shoot. In this case it worked.

There very well may have been some nefarious shit going on behindthe scenes, but Valiant still put out some dam good books.

It's been fifteen years, you can get 7 issues now for $25 if you want, time to let the hate go and just enjoy the ride.

We try to be cautious of it though.

Does the guy have an ego - sure. But the Valiant stories were damn excellent.

And again, Defiant, that's a whole other story.
