In fact I think the last issue, #30, comes out this month. It had been planned as a 50 issue series, but low sales killed that idea in the ass. Will this lead to a lifeboat save for the comic series? Or will the TV series, if successful, simply go in the direction the comic had originally planned for, before being cut short? Interesting to see what pans out on this one...

...it was being developed by the man you gave the world the Daredevil and Ghost Rider movies. Are you really that surprised it all fell apart? In fact we probably should be grateful, maybe someone with an ounce of talent will be able to pick up the pieces instead. I mean who really wants to see Mark Steven Johnson's Preacher? Really? I mean what are the chances of that ever turning out well?
Where the fuck is "Preacher"?

Does anyone know what happened to this show? Is it still in development? What? I love "The Exterminators" and I hope this goes to series. It's gloriously weird and fucked up and will fit right in with "Dexter" and "The Brotherhood".
Liked the comic

the project is made for hbo...it can be what carnivale was not allowed to become...and i thought mark steven johnson lost his comic book cred after ghost rider, and was no longer allowed to go anywhere near a comic related movie...and i hope im not alone in this, but is anyone else just a tad nervous over hollywood's new love for the comic? you just know the entire relationship is gonna go sour...which might be a good thing, as then i can return to going to comic-con...me and just a few of my friends, while the rest of the wanabees stay home....make it so
Two words come to mind...HOLY CRAP!! * Sigh* it wil never happen

Anything in comics thats as good as the EXTERMINATORS will never be made into a show as far as ive seen. Sure id love to see Slim, AJ, the rest of Bug-Be-Gone and some of the most fucked up shit ive seen in comics in a long while in the small screen. But my hopes are not up due to HBO and cable dropping the ball on so many great comics that would have made aawesome series ( 100 Bullets, Y the last man, Preacher to name a few )Ill belive it when I see it. Anyone wants to get turned on to the most gory horror and eww factor bugs should check the series out. The first 4 are collected on TB

before it became a comic...funny how they wouldnt bite when it was just a script idea, but once its published, they want to develop it

at least as long the HBO-cocksuckers continue canceling great stuff like Deadwood, Carnivale or Rome and replacing it with mediocre and interchangeable dramas like In Treatment or Tell Me instead of giving the greenlight for Preacher and Song of Ice and Fire. Now and then an event like Generation Kill isn't enough to fill that gap. San Francisco-Cocksuckers...SWEGEN !

I'm waiting for a Punisher TV series.

Think The Shield, but with The Punisher instead of cops. Not a big budget. Just set up the scumbag of the week who has escaped justice after committing some heinous act, and then have the Punisher hunting and killing said scumbags. Simple. Effective. Maybe even throw in a Punisher task force if you must.

Ummmmm I'm pretty sure anyone rich enough to be buying brand new Jaguar's has no idea what this site is, or doesn't have time to dick around on this site. That or they are so close to death that they fergot to do something cool in there life so they feel like buying a nice car will make up for a lifetime of being a loser. I hate old people.

Wait that new Punisher trailer wasn't for a TV show? There is no way that could be considered good enough for a big screen?
They should cancel Weeds for this.

Forget Preacher. How about Alan Ball's True Blood? Season 1 went into production over a year ago and they are supposably finally going to air it this fall. They can't have a Sopranos type of shooting schedule with a series about vampires. There will be some continuity problems if a decade passes between they start shooting season 1 and season 4.
Exterminators is OK, but Preacher... MAN.

True Blood.

I had hopes for it, but I read a script review and it sounds terrible.

Vampires are "out" now--yes, yes, they are a metaphor for gays--thanks to a synthetic blood called True.

So they are basically marginalized and have to combat prejudice. Also, vampire blood makes humans really, really high. Oh and a human who has sex with a vampire is called a "fanglover". I shit you now.

This is really cool

Unexpected, but awesome. Of all the Vertigo series, I think Exterminators would be one of the easier ones to adapt. Obviously Preacher, Y, and Fables all would work best as a tv series, I doubt we'll see any of those on the small screen. (well, hopefully Preacher)

Too bad they're cancelling the comic from what I vaugely remember reading, it's a great read and I get all the trades, but I'd like to see the book come to an end because you can only ramp up the man vs. bug battle until you reach a conclusion.
Oh, and the bug keeping the guy alive by peeing in his mouth
