You might want to put a poster or cast picture higher when we have to see the same box cover four days in a row, just so we won;t click away thinking "I must have read this one already." Especially when said box art "sucks a big nut."

Did anyone else look at that illo and thing "Roger Daltrey as Molotov Cocktease?" Just me?

day after day we see fecking AWESOME poster art work and taglines that are just killer. "THIS IS REAL. THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED"!!!

I wish I could visit each marketing department in every shop and physically destroy their copies of photoshop.

I will totally be picking up this set soon. This has become my favorite column on this site. Keep up the good work... I hope you don't get burned-out. This has inspired me to start my own 'movie-a-week' type thing myself. I won't bore you with my viewing choices so far... but they're mainly titles I've picked up for free at my local library. They have quite an impressive DVD collection there. Okay... the last one I viewed was the Criterion edition of Sullivan's Travels featuring the lovely Veronica Lake. But thank you for turning me on to some groovy movies! Please keep it up and thanks to the talk-backers for keeping the posts fun and positive.
Quint... Temple of Doom = Gunga Din

Whether this movie had any influence of Speilberg or Lucas is questionable. Maybe it did, but more likely it was just inspired by the same source that inspired Temple of Doom... Gunga Din. Hammer ripped off most of their ideas from older films, so it makes sense.
I've enjoyed this series....

It's done a good job of re-introducing me to some films I haven't seen in years (Papillon, Point Blank) and reminded me of a couple I always meant to see and never did (Drowning Pool, Strange Invaders, etc). It was a good idea and it's been a fun column. Thanks, Quint.
Good film!

Of the four films in this set Stranglers is my favorite. Saw it on the big screen a couple of years ago and the audience seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.

Rarely has a Hammer film provoked so much censorship. Scenes of the bosomy Marie Devereux (her boobs hanging over victims like Kansas storm clouds) were trimmed, specifically the scenes where she savored the sadistic dispatch of captives. Marie's breasts were bathed in sweat and censorship boards had a field day (pending upon each country's board of civic watchdogs). I barely remember TEMPLE OF DOOM--but the grim memories of BOMBAY's Grand Guignol are very much intact. Rough stuff. And that throbbing theme music just won't go away.

She doesn't strangle, but carries a goblet around, drinking every drop of blood before it touches the ground. All this drinking of 'dark' demon blood turns her black, hence the name Kali.

Won't that have been more fun? They don't strangel, but slash your throat and drink every single drop of blood.
