Merrick here...
Early last month, Brett Ratner did an interview with MTV regarding BEVERLY HILLS COP 4.
A particular quote in the interview lead many to the logical conclusion that the new BHC project would have a considerably softer tone/rating than its predecessors.
When asked what is biggest challenge would be, Ratner seemed to indicate that his new film would be geared towards a very PG audience.

Hey folks, Harry here... Seems the year is getting kicked off with quite a bit of horror and horror remakes - for some reason, the powers at be have decided that this is the time of the year to release horror films - not late September/ October - where I personally would love to see at least a good selection of horror. Is that really too much to ask, and is there some definable reason that keeps studios from releasing a movie like TRICK OR TREAT around that time?

Seems there's a display of props from the new TREK movie at CES in Vegas.
TrekMovie has some images of said props - be sure to click the Medical Tricorder to find a communicator & Uhura's comm station ear piece as well.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Now, the below review isn't a positive one, which doesn't make me happy because I think David Goyer's horror film looks fantastic. It's the only trailer that I've ever seen that has made not just one, but two different audiences scream when it played in a dark theater. I've never seen that in all my years of movie watching... it's that creepy old dude who turns his head upsidedown.

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here, with our second 3-D screening event of next week--something really, really special for folks in and around my city of the unpredictable weather. Please keep in mind these two screenings are unconnected, so if you want to go to both, you have to enter both contests.

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here.
OhManOhManOhManOhManOhManOhManOhManOhManOhManOhMan, am I excited!!!
Partly by coincidence and partly by design, I've got two events lined up for Chicago-area folks next week that are both 3-D in nature and both sublimely awesome.

Hey, guys. Quint here with a little update on Herc's great story below... First, regarding Mickey Rourke... I can't confirm his involvement, but I have heard that yesterday's EXPENDABLES story might have been... quite early, to say the least. I'd count his Expendables involvement as more of a maybe, not a definite, so that definitely leaves him open to appear in IM2.

Hey girls, Harry here... That dreamy Taylor Lautner, who first had you panting in your capris, will be wolfing it out in NEW MOON, aka TWILIGHT 2! Isn't that like the best news ever? How very! Speaking of wolfing it out - I suggest you check out HOWLING 2 - it's really all about what girl werewolves do, and it's how you should too!
TAYLOR LAUTNER TO REPRISE HIS ROLE AS JACOB IN NEW MOON

Some people are giddy that director Albert Pyun is undertaking his long ago promised follow-up to THE SWORD AND THE SORCER, called TALES OF AN ANCIENT EMPIRE. We've recived some nice mails from people ecstatic to see photos of this long-in-coming project.
And, not surprisingly, others are bitching that we're devoting too much attention/site space to TALES here on AICN.

Merrick here...
The frequently discussed, oft-reported SHAZAM! movie project seems to have collapsed (for a while, at least) due to collision with inconsisent executives, the writer's strike, Warner Bros' assimilation of New Line, and more. This per screenwriter John August.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'm of the opinion that DJ Caruso is a great shooter. He knows how to put a flick together and pull great performances out of his cast. Sometimes the scripts he directs aren't... completely there, but when the material is right he gives us movies like SALTON SEA and the incredibly fun, but underseen BLACK CAT RUN (scripted by Frank Darabont).

The Broken Lizard boys are back with their fourth motion picture extravaganza, and it looks like they've got a shot at recapturing the inspired silliness of SUPER TROOPERS with THE SLAMMIN' SALMON. Collider's hosting the red-band trailer. Check it out...

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. If the thought of Sylvester Stallone directing a buddy war flick called THE EXPENDABLES with Jason Statham, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren confirmed (and Forest Whitaker and Ben Kingsley circling) wasn't enough, how about if we add in some Mickey Rourke?
