Hey folks, Harry here... Earlier this year I saw a great U.S. Immigration drama called THE VISITOR. It seems Lou Dobbs has effectively drilled into the minds of Hollywood, the notion of Border Tales. Modern stories of immigration gone wrong. In Wayne Kramer's film trailer, we're introduced to the phrase, "Immigration Gestapo." So that will give you an idea of how the film is approaching things. It seems that the story is spread out to give you an overview of the problem - sort of like TRAFFIC did for drugs. Now, I like Wayne Kramer's work...

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
I don’t think I’m onboard the Wayne Kramer train.
In fact, I think I’m sort of baffled about why there is a Wayne Kramer train. I thought THE COOLER was okay, but hardly a great film. And if anything, RUNNING SCARED seemed to me to be a huge step in the wrong direction, trading generic Tony Scott Avid farts for anything human or interesting about Kramer’s first film.

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
When we posted the obit for director Bob Clark last week, the talkback quickly degenerated into a racist cesspool because of the illegal status of the drunk driver who killed Clark and his son. Never mind that their immigration status had nothing to do with the accident... just mentioning the issue seems to bring out the lynch-mob-with-a-shotgun mentality in some people.
So I’m sure there will be a good deal of heated discussion regarding the new project by Wayne (THE COOLER, RUNNING SCARED) Kramer. Do me a personal favor, though, okay? Don’t turn the talkback into another repulsive display. At least pretend you know how to talk about the issue like human beings.
