Here's Mastidon with the last in his series of reports from UK's QUANTUM OF SOLACE premier. You can find his spoiler-heavy review of the film HERE, and a different report from the premier HERE.
I sat down today to watch CASINO ROYALE in Blu-Ray, then drove across town for the sold out midnight show of QUANTUM OF SOLACE. It seems that nobody at Sony particularly wanted me to see this film early, but that’s alright – this audience was holy shit great to see the movie with.
But you don’t want to hear about the audience, or the new trailers for STAR TREK, WATCHMEN or THE SPIRIT that we saw. No – you turned to this page to see where I come down on QUANTUM OF SOLACE.
Over the last few weeks AICN readers have seen quite a few positive reviews of QUANTUM OF SOLACE (Mastidon's HERE & Massawyrm's HERE, for example). We have about five other positive-to-glowing QUANTUM reviews (from readers) sitting in the AICN inbox this very moment.
Hey folks, Harry here - just got a ring from the BBC's Lizo Mzimba, who just got out of QUANTUM OF SOLACE, just typed up his thoughts, just posted them to the BBC - and then picked up the phone excitedly to tell me - THEY"RE UP! You can read his full review at the BBC - link below - but on the phone, he essentially told me the below, which is from the review, as the key thing that stuck out in his mind about the film. SOUNDS LIKE WHAT I WANT!
It's a film that feels like the second part of a trilogy, with this being the bleaker second act.
A brief and not-particularly-revealing QUANTUM OF SOLACE clip in online over at MSN Movies. It features Craig and Giancarlo Giannini talking about Vesper.
Christ, EON Productions, why would you allow this sort of major spoiler to hit an English newspaper this far out from release of your latest James Bond film?
Hey folks. Capone in Chicago here, with a bit of bonus material from my London excursion last week for QUANTUM OF SOLACE. I've got some images that were only given to the sites that attended this event.
"What the hell is this organization, Bond? How can they be everywhere and we know nothing about them?"
I don't know, M. The official plot summary for QUANTUM OF SOLACE fails to put a name to this "secret organization". They're apparently codenamed "Quantum", but I keep expecting another moniker to emerge. Like "Eduardo".
Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here with a chance for you to ask James Bond (Daniel Craig) a question. I'm guessing that for most of you, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; it is for me too. In fact, I've got a whole series of events upcoming having to do with the latest James Bond epic QUANTUM OF SOLACE that I can't wait to experience and report back to you all.
I just endured the very worst movie of 2008 (if I'm lucky). How to make the pain go away? Let's give a listen to Joe Cornish's highly unsolicited QUANTUM OF SOLACE theme song.
To be completely honest, I don't know anything about the following one way or the other...I'm just sharing with you what was pointed out to me by a reader named Julian.
This shouldn't come as a particular surprise, but Mark Ronson (singer Amy Winehouse's producer) says her recording of the theme song for QUANTUM OF SOLACE has hit a few snags.
Seems Winehouse is "not ready to record any music" according to Ronson, and prep work on the track has ceased altogether.
